Navidad de último minuto / Last minute Christmas

Here is my Christmas Wall Hanging, which could not hang on the chimney, as the wooden bar that holds was gone ..."some elf" used to play and left the bar abandoned in the middle of the garden.
Also I finished the Noel Sampler, which was part of the decoration of the dinning room.

On the same day 24, called me at noon of the post office to warn that had come me my swap SSCS, Dawn Jones from Australia was my Secret Santa, in the package had a beautiful mini-quilt embroidered by hand for she, a sympathetic small chair "pincushion", some fabrics, a Christmas ornament and a pencil with a very Australian design.

The rest of the day was very family; after all, despite the fatigue at this time of year, it was a very good year for all and which we are all grateful.

Que tengan un bonito fin de semana.

Have a nice weekend.

Antes de Navidad…/ Before Christmas...

They (my children and their friends) are on vacation.

He (my husband) graduated master in industrial engineering, after two intense years of combining work, studies and family.

... And I finished the last orders before Christmas (three cover-books and two handbags), I love design and then make them, always different, I do not like to do things in series. I also began to decorate the house after the spraying (Lili, using non-toxic products to humans and only for the control of insect pests and flies).

I am very happy to have known, and although I imagine that you will be very busy with the holidays, I wanted to share with you a lot of moments of family and personal satisfaction, if I can't to write for Christmas, I wish you all happiness, peace and joy.

Hasta pronto.

…Y el ganador es / ...And the winner is

Nothing is more disgusting than when one expects to know the name of the winner in a television program, the entertainer said: "we will know after trading."

¡Muchas felicitaciones! (Envíame tu dirección para mandarte el regalo).

The winner of a glass case is ODETTE. Many congratulations! (Send me your address to send the gift).

This week I began to put some Christmas ornaments as this Old Santa that I painted 5 years ago and the tablerunner with hearts in the kitchen. I have not put the Christmas tree nor the rest of the ornaments, because we will have to a spraying inside and outside the house so this week, so I prefer to wait. Imagine you the sprayer moving at 360 º with the bomb in his back.

Que tengan una bonita semana.
Have a nice week.

Sigo sumando / I keep adding

It arrived "December" and I must fulfill certain work required. The first thing was to finish these cases lens-shaped Matryoshka that I downloaded a French blog (sadly not remember his name). I think they will forget so soon: 90 or 95% is done by hand. I was happy with the result.

Some friends consulted me for the "Sampler Noel", is a cross stitch embroidery, I found on the website of Carole, and here is my progress, I hope to have it framed for Christmas.

Some time ago, my accountant of visits was died, but on the map that shows where you see me, I have surpassed the 10,000 visits. It was so nice to meet people of my country and abroad, read your comments about my work and everyday life. In gratitude I have decided to give away a case of lenses or otherwise made by me. Of the comments are made up on Sunday, will emerge the winner and in my next post I will communicate.

Last week, focused on various activities of my children, and with small advances in my work.
My son Sebastian had birthday, 19 years old, and for the first time he wasn't at home to the traditional greeting (singing) birthday, early in the morning. He loves the group Queen, so he attended the concert the group gave in Santiago with his new vocalist. After all, he is ending with successful your first year engineering student.

My son Felipe has been dedicated from very small to play guitar, he play fluently classical as electric guitar, he has learned in art workshops at school. This year also he participated in the little orchestra that his teacher organized. Everything is going well ... except math. I was with him all week, studying the geometry, because today began the final examinations.

By contrast, Benjamin, my younger son, is well with maths, but didn't even try to play a guitar during their music classes, for him the arts aren't in their interests. The guitar has been vacant ... you can imagine "who want it". Very soon begin their vacation (not myself included), and move forward with my things, with rock music all day.
Hasta pronto,
Goodbye,

Sigo en carrera / I am still in the race

It has spent several days since my last post, and that is that time flies and I advance with some compromises. Today is ready my Christmas gift of swap SSCS (Secret Santa Christmas Swap) and one of the rules of this swap is "not showing until the partner receives the gift at Christmas" ... sorry.

I started the bag directed by Isabel, though many quilters are in the past few objectives, I'm enjoying the work of the first stage. It has so many details, I loved sewing the miniquilt.

Another thing I did was a sleeve of notebook; definitely, these small works are full of details that make delays, but very entertaining.

Espero tener nuevos avances pronto y buen fin de semana a todas.

I look forward to further progress soon, and happy weekend to all.

There is a big draw for this pattern on Dec. 24, details here.

Tristeza / Sadness

When in past January I participated in a challenge with a antique photograph marriage, I developed my work around a phrase that read: "The greatest happiness of marriage is to grow old together." My parents were married 33 years, and when my father died 18 years ago, my mom was 51 years and never wished to marry again, simply because she had been very happy with my dad. My in-laws were married 53 years, and when my father in-law died a month ago, he did so taken by the hand of my mother-in-law.

This week I learned that my younger brother is divorcing, after thirteen years of marriage and two little girls. It was a hard blow for both families, and although they there have been a time of reflection, we hope that "the waters are calm and follow the course that they decided that the day they got married".

I must admit that this situation has saddened me a lot, because, although you say me that I am "formed the old", for me, the marriage is for always. I have to admit that one don't live an eternal honeymoon, but by providing both, day to day ,a bit grain of sand, is built over time a wonderful thing, after all, marriage is a matter of maturity and growth for both spouses.

Hasta pronto.

Goodbye.

Casi listo / Almost ready

Ready by quilting is my quilt Bunny Patch led by Emi. I found a pleasure to add some details of embroidery as part of my personal stamp. The garden of the rabbit, the large flower and butterfly were embroidered, but this time my camera did not accompany me, I searched the camera of my son, but he was carrying it, and as I did not want to lose valuable time, I continue preparing the quilt for the quilting, that is the reason that's pictures appear with the details basting.

Rosas / Roses

Sorry, I know that I have not shown signs of life. Is that there are seasons with more work load, and this is one of them. This, my first year of blog, was all new to me, I discovered the SAL and swap, and in all I wished to be. I'm not repented; on the contrary I have enjoyed every project and swap, only that the time progresses and I continued to accumulate tasks. Free time of this week, I devoted to move in my works. While I contemplated my garden and would resolve when a new post, I decided to share my roses in gratitude to his visits.

There comes October and Halloween is everywhere. A few years ago that Chile has been introduced this party of Celtic origin, being the young and children who have embraced this as a game. Unfortunately the adults have not internalized, and fewer are prepared to receive children with sweets, the jokes of them are very unpleasant.
Perhaps over the years we adapt to this party and even will have a Chilean version of it or simply not going with our idiosyncrasies.

I know, in that place where I live there are legends, magic and mystery, etc. Talagante comes from the Quechua word "Talacanta" that means "Tie sorcerer." And knowingly or not, people from other places associated Talagante with witches.

Looking into the matter, I found this:
"The Witches of Talagante are evil people, who are in many places, say the author of
Myths and Superstitions , Julio Cifuentes, who adds that, are particularly at El
Monte, Talagante and others places and that are especially the women in our country who
are dedicated to the art of witchcraft.
And the witches of Talagante are which acquired the national level greater visibility. In the area is believed that witches can fly, transforming into animals with wings or riding on
a broom, those granted to utter words "Without God, or Santa Maria".
According to popular belief, witches of Talagante have power and knowledge, to attack people's lives, for the curses that they spray on their lives".

After that, I hope not to have the pleasure of knowing any of them, because as the saying goes "I do not believe in witches Garay, but if there are any, are."

Hasta pronto

Goodbye.

This is the first mystery quilt that I make. I followed the instructions of Patchowl without imagining that it would be. I liked much, is very simple and quick to perform. But as I like to complicate my life, and I' m not one person of simple things, I'm going to add some angels in the blocks of solid fabrics. I hope that the effect will be good.

Un regalo y cosas nuevas / A gift and new things

Hi, first I want to thank you for your condolences, have been very kind.

This week I received a gift from Malta, the lovely Pauline, of Paru's Circle, sent me some delicate works in cross stitch, made up for her, for I will include somewhere design mine. For a long time that I don't embroider and thanks to an invitation yours, I came back this year to do this technique and I am delighted with this again.

Also I wanted to paint and to make decoupage cracked in glass, so after three classes, each fortnight, I was able to finish the fruit-bowl that I had bought in a supermarket, giving a new look.

I did these little frames with ducks (I lack even the second frame, as if someone said that I use the same for the two photos). The decoupage is a very entertaining and can be done in different ways. For the moment I will decorate so, some dishes from an antique set of dessert.

Hasta pronto.

Goodbye.
