Feliz Navidad / Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all my readers, for those leave me a comment, you that know me and invite me to know them.

To all I invite know my latest Christmas jobs, which I will place in my house. The wreath consists of cubes, which in turn are "gifts"; and the pine hanging with the Twelve Days of Christmas.

Ah, I thought that after two days with temperatures above 35 ° C would have to spend Christmas in the pool.
Abrazos.
Hugs.

El primer regalo de navidad / The first gift of Christmas

¡Felicitaciones Pablo!

Y como decía un personaje de Chespirito:
¿Oye Lucas?
LUCAS: Dígame Licenciado.
CHAPARRON: ¡Licenciado!
LUCAS: ¡Gracias, muchas gracias!

Pablo, the eldest of my four children, ended yesterday the last semester in college, now is a graduate of BA in History.

Congratulations Pablo!

And as said a character in Chespirito:
Hey Lucas?
LUCAS: Tell me graduate.
CHAPARRON: Graduate!

El pesebre / The Nativity

For Maria Cecilia, she does not receive comments at this time: "Congratulations and success in your new endeavor."

During the fair I attended in October, I commissioned a wall hanging of Christmas, a nativity. Each of its blocks was sewn with the technique of "paper foundation" (sewing on paper) and embroidery on the background with lots of flowers, hills and stars (personal design). This embroidery was used as a first quilting, I made with batting, then I put the backing and quilting machine every one of his motives.
It is a large panel (1.00 x 0, 75 mt), which I have, I hang over the chimney
during the holidays.
A continuación les muestro detalles del trabajo.

Then I show details of the job.

Otro bolso / Another handbag

Although the model is the same as I showed here, I made this handbag with two printed fabrics in composé.
The quilting was made to hand, decorating the center of the flowers with beads of the same color and the veins of the leaves with embroidery thread. I also put inside handbag a plastic lock (tip-top) on opposite sides the magnetic clasp, thus changing the original model.

tengan un buen fin de semana.
Have a good weekend.

Y el discurso duró… / And the speech lasted ...

... What the birds remained in the branch (the miniquilt was sold the day after being displayed).

This panel has a motive classic Christmas northern hemisphere. Cross-stitch embroidery had shown here, I added a small border of triangles, some buttons, a star of wood and was the miniquilt very "country style",now no I displease the snowmen, but I insist, here would be melted. Also I embroidery "Merry Christmas" with several strands of embroidery thread to give a more rustic look and I put the same color beads on the ends of each letter.
Gracias por sus comentarios, son muy motivadores.
Nos vemos pronto.

Thanks for your comments, are very motivating.
Goodbye.

La navidad viene volando…/ Christmas comes flying...

…y se está acercando a pasos agigantados.

... And is getting closer to giant steps.

I started working the Christmas theme, and despite having a classic style, I always find something new, like these birds.

In the southern hemisphere, where I live, we spent Christmas with 30 degrees Celsius at least, so most of the celebrations are outdoors and very summery. For that reason, I got out of the typical Christmas colors and I made this colorful panel. The model, an image found on the net, easy to make and fun to decorate.Que pasen un buen fin de semana.
Have a good weekend.

Cojines Crazy / Crazy pillows

My sister in law Valeria entrusted me two pillows for your sofa, and she wanted them with the technique "crazy" (many bits of fabrics of different colors and varied textures, decorated with rich embroidery).
I must say, I do not know why, for too long delayed this work, perhaps hand embroidery overwhelmed me. When I learned to make this technique, I learned that the key to success is to make different stitches of embroidery, hopefully not repeat them. I started embroidering with plain blanket stitch and finished making daisies flowers, bows, rings and waves with chain stitch, French knots and others. When finished, I was delighted with the outcome and eager to make another similar work soon.

In the photos show details of embroidery done with silk threads, the moon and the spider away from its web give a personal touch to each pillow.

Espero que tengan una bonita semana.
Hope you have a nice week.

¡Pero mamá! / But Mom!

Was the cry of my son Benjamin when he saw the tapestry of Halloween,
he not accustom to celebrate this event incorporates the latest in Chile.

I don't cast my opinion on this date, only rescued a few things: allowed me dark fabrics to work, these I personally always leave those aside; and see them smile in the midst of their studies, with a pumpkin and a cute owl.

Hasta pronto.
Goodbye.

As you see I'm making bags. I saw this model formed by four pieces and wanted to try as it was, and it’s easy to do.

Whenever I do a test, I use fabrics or blocks that they are one step be eliminated, but then I ended the project, this is not so bad. It's a pretty large bag with a magnetic snap closure, although I would hold another closed solution. Next, because I plan to do another similar bag, I have built such a solution.

Odette showed he used to stiffen the handles of the bags; I put a synthetic tape (as backbag) for the handles are not "mushy."

If no changes, tomorrow will attend the Expo Prima Materia with my new shopping bag.Hasta pronto.
Goodbye.
