Con detalles / With details

Depending on how you look, you can read the title:

- The image of the panel is stained.

- The front end was not centered.

- The lining of the basket is out.

Or perhaps:

- The old image is sweet and special.

- The border to crochet, embroidery and buttons add a vintage feel.

- The medal blessed in the Vatican, personal choice.

I wanted to make a basket for my reference books (those that are near depending on the daily work) without measures defined, colors and fabrics chosen. From the fabric printed with a childhood scene (recycling), I sewed blocks and add elements that seemed adequate to maintain the style sought. I put cardboard between the front pieces and  lining, and the result, but with details, I loved it.

I have a pannel with scene embroidered, with clear idea, these baskets are never others.
Hasta pronto.
 Goodbye.

Cojines reciclados / Recycled pillows

Been a while since my last post, many races here and there, order, purchase, changes, the family whole again, another dog at home ... and do the seams?
Gradually sewing , organizing my new sewing corner ... "this keep, it  not keep" (Has happened to you that sometimes you put aside a fabric or a lace and you think "I'm never going to use it" and the next week it's perfect for your new project?).
These pillows I sewed for short periods from a old table runner embroidered, the fabric is impregnated spots, but the embroidery is flawless, without cut threads. Thinking of my quilt, I used similar fabrics, a new narrow lace and another, a lace remains the original table runner.
I love them and the old embroideries are rescued from the dustbin.

Hasta pronto.
Goodbye.

Nada de costura / Nothing seam

No teníamos planeado vacaciones.
We not had planned vacation. I took the months of January and February for medical and dental checkups for my children, but the opportunity arose to leave a few days off. A getaway to Buenos Aires, why not?
Is the second time we visited the city, try to go places where we were not the first time, and although we "leave the feet on the street", we fail to see everything ... well, so no excuse going again.
I've never told my husband and my youngest son's birthday is the same day (25 February), after making a long line, we enter the centenary Café Tortoni.
We were at the fair in San Telmo (the antiques fair most important in South America), where of course I left with three dishes for my collection.
We stopped to rest in the Plaza de Mayo in front of the Casa Rosada, and see people walking around the Presidential House, and there we were: a guided tour of the different rooms and the very office of the president made her forget all the tiredness.
But the beauty of the work of walls and ceilings cannot get me forget the patchwork, the mosaic floor of the hall I loved, I think that will sew a block so.
We are back, my son, almost got off the plane to go to school, my husband has a few more days of vacation, I still no seam.
Hasta pronto.
 Goodbye.
